Learning at one's own pace, on the Petite Côte
Bilingual Montessori school in Nguérigne. For children aged 18 months to 12 years. A Montessori pioneer in Senegal.
A Montessori school
rooted here.
We are a bilingual Montessori school (French-English) on Senegal's Petite Côte, five minutes from Ngaparou. Three complete environments today welcome children aged 18 months to 12 years, in a bright setting open to nature.
Our team is Montessori-trained. No grades, no competition - but a rigor of observation and a carefully prepared environment, so each child progresses at their own pace and keeps, as they grow, the pleasure of learning.
"Let us not raise our children for today's world. This world will have changed by the time they grow up. Help them above all to cultivate their faculties for creation and adaptation."
Maria Montessori
Serious pedagogy,
a living school.
Montessori Pedagogy
Personalized learning based on Maria Montessori's principles, respecting each child's pace and interests.
Ecological Garden
A vegetable and permaculture garden where children learn to respect the environment and grow their own vegetables.
Responsible Canteen
Balanced meals prepared on-site every day, using local and seasonal produce. Our menus are designed for children's energy and health.
Engaged Community
Parents are active partners in school life. We encourage their participation and involvement.
Three environments, one continuous journey.
Each age group corresponds to a prepared environment, designed for the developmental needs of that period.
Building a Montessori hub,
from early childhood to adolescence.
Our ambition: to make Les Colibris a reference for Montessori pedagogy on the Petite Côte. We are building the first Montessori middle school (ages 12-15) in the region, followed by a high school (ages 15-18), to accompany each child through the continuity of their journey.
In adolescence, young people seek to know themselves, gain autonomy, find their place in the world. Our middle school will accompany this essential stage through concrete projects, cooperation and openness to the world.
Come and visit us.
Before any enrollment, we invite you to visit the school, meet the team and ask all your questions. It's often the beginning of a great adventure.
